Straightening Tilted Teeth with Veneers
Hello. I'm Park Jonguk, head of Dream Dental Clinic.
For teeth to look beautiful,
they need a kind of "general beauty" that anyone looking at them can recognize.
Saying teeth are beautiful is much like saying a smile is beautiful.
For a smile to be beautiful in this way,
the teeth first need to be well aligned.
And each individual tooth needs to have a natural, attractive shape.
The teeth also need to be bright.
On top of that, gaps between the teeth don't look good.
And when viewed against the whole face, the teeth shouldn't look tilted either.
Cases that meet all of these conditions aren't all that common,
but when the degree of the problem is severe enough,
for esthetic improvement,
veneer treatment may be needed.
The alignment of the teeth wasn't very good.
There were visible gaps between the teeth,
and the teeth were significantly tilted.
The sizes of the teeth were all different,
and the color of each tooth varied as well.
The canines on either side had completely different shapes from each other, too.
For these various esthetic problems,
the choice comes down to orthodontics or veneers.
In this case, even with orthodontics,
veneers would still be unavoidable,
so we decided to treat with veneers.
A precision diagnosis was carried out for the treatment.
From the tilt of the teeth to the asymmetric shape and color,
this was a case involving a very wide range of issues to treat.
The more complex a case like this is,
the more critical the diagnostic process for the veneer treatment becomes.
Only with a good diagnosis can unnecessary tooth reduction be avoided.
The teeth are now all very clear and bright,
well aligned,
and the natural-tooth feel has been well expressed.
You can see how well the veneers blend with the gums,
and the gum tissue has naturally filled in between the canine and lateral incisor, where there used to be a gap.
In a case like this, the teeth can become well aligned in a short amount of time
and look beautiful, which makes veneer treatment a highly effective method.
You can see that the smile has become dramatically more attractive.
A beautiful smile like this also leads to greater confidence.
When meeting people, or when smiling,
confidence naturally follows.
