No-Prep Veneer Treatment Cases in Apgujeong

One of the biggest reasons people worry about veneers

is the possibility of side effects.

If you think about what those side effects might be,

1) Tooth sensitivity

2) Veneers coming loose

3) Gum inflammation

these three would be the most representative.

Most of these side effects arise from reducing the tooth structure.

In other words, if the tooth isn't reduced at all,

the side effects are greatly reduced.

With no-prep veneers in Apgujeong,

which don't reduce a single bit of tooth,

the side effects are bound to be significantly lower.

It would be great if every case could be done without any reduction,

but the cases where it's actually possible are somewhat limited.

The conditions for no-prep veneers in Apgujeong are:

1) The teeth must be small.

2) The alignment must be good.

3) The teeth must not protrude.

4) Retroclined (inward-tilted) teeth are favorable.

5) Within these conditions, spacing between the teeth gives an even better result.

These are the factors worth considering.

The alignment is good and the teeth are quite small.

There's also some space between the teeth,

and they didn't protrude at all.

Seen from the side, rather than protruding,

the teeth were severely retroclined.

This fits every condition I mentioned

for no-prep veneers in Apgujeong to be possible.

Since the teeth were quite short,

they needed to be lengthened,

but because the upper teeth heavily overlapped the lower teeth in a "deep bite,"

rather than lengthening the teeth downward,

we decided on gum contouring and proceeded with the diagnosis.

We measured all the tooth proportions

and determined exactly how much gum contouring would be needed.

Based on this, we built the teeth in wax

and worked out the precise shape in advance.

Following that plan, using a laser,

we carry out the gum contouring.

After gum contouring, the shape doesn't simply stay as it is —

as healing progresses over time,

the gum tissue grows back down somewhat.

So we allow plenty of time and wait for the gums to stabilize.

Once the gums have fully healed,

we move on to fabricating the veneers

and then seat them.

Veneers made this way are extremely thin.

With the same-day fabrication method that's popular these days,

this kind of no-prep veneer in Apgujeong simply isn't possible.

We took photos with the veneer placed on just one side, so you can compare it with the natural tooth.

As the severely retroclined tooth was brought further outward,

it looked even more natural.

By covering all the way to the sides of the tooth,

you can see how well the veneer wraps around it.

We took a photo of the other side using the same method.

As the small tooth became a bit larger,

you can see how the proportion improved as well.

The width-to-height ratio of the tooth shifted to nearly the average,

and the proportion between the front tooth and the tooth beside it improved a great deal too.

The tooth color is very natural,

and even though it's extremely thin, all sorts of natural tooth characteristics

have been built into the veneer.

With no-prep veneers in Apgujeong,

the result is, in many cases, quite unnatural,

often looking dull and opaque,
