Beautifying a Peg Lateral with Front-Tooth Veneer Treatment
Hello, I'm Park Jonguk, director of Dream Dental Clinic.
Making the teeth beautiful is what veneer treatment is about.
The result has to be beautiful.
Depending on the treatment concept or the method used to make the veneer,
the result can differ a great deal.
In particular, what material is used
and what fabrication method is used
makes the result quite different.
For more on how the veneer treatment result
changes depending on the fabrication method,
please see the link below.
No matter what fabrication method is used,
or what material is used,
it's all still veneer treatment.
Occasionally it's presented as a completely different treatment from a veneer,
but that's simply incorrect.
In the end, depending on the fabrication method,
it can turn out looking like a natural tooth,
or it can turn out looking artificial and awkward.
A peg lateral and a square-shaped tooth...
The shapes of the teeth were all different,
and the sizes varied too, some large and some small.
The two central incisors had a shape that was too square,
and were too wide, which was an aesthetic problem.
The two teeth beside the front teeth are called the lateral incisors.
Their size was much smaller than normal.
This is called a peg lateral,
and to resolve these various issues,
we decided on veneer treatment.
A diagnostic process is essential for treatment.
Please see the link below for the precision wax-up diagnosis process.
Through this detailed, precise treatment process,
the veneer treatment was completed.
After the veneer treatment, the teeth changed dramatically, almost like they belonged to a different person.
You can confirm that the feel of a natural tooth is fully preserved.
The tooth's dimensionality and shape look natural,
and the one-day method, made by computer,
cannot achieve this level of detail.
In particular, the translucency and varied coloring of the tooth
are territory the one-day method simply cannot match.
The gums are in excellent health
One of the possible side effects after veneer treatment
is gum inflammation.
When dentists learn about healthy gums from a textbook,
the description used is that they should feel like orange peel,
and that healthy gum texture is clearly visible here.
The shape of the canine is a bit of a minor letdown.
Since treatment was done on only four teeth,
the canine remains in its natural state.
With natural color and translucency,
since the veneer treatment has been completed this way,
there's no sense of anything looking off.
