No-Prep Veneer Treatment That Preserves a Natural Feel

The crown jewel of veneers is the no-prep veneer.

It's a case where not a single bit of the tooth is reduced.

Most cases do require reduction.

Because the very definition of a veneer involves reducing the front surface of the tooth

and bonding on a thin ceramic plate,

reduction is generally needed.

That said, depending on the case, no-prep veneers can sometimes be possible.

The three conditions for that are:

1. The teeth need to be small

2. The alignment needs to be good

3. The teeth must not be protruding

those are the conditions.

When all three conditions are met, no reduction is needed.

If one of these conditions is lacking,

some minimal reduction becomes necessary to compensate.

Here, there's a gap between the teeth.

The teeth are small, but the alignment isn't quite excellent.

The teeth aren't protruding,

but they're tilted slightly, so they stick out a little bit.

Viewed from the side, there's no sense of protrusion at all.

The bite with the lower teeth isn't perfect,

but it's the kind of level that can be adjusted well after the veneers are set, without any problem.

We carry out a precise diagnosis of the current condition.

We measure the tooth size,

we measure the proportion between the teeth,

While planning the treatment,

we decided to split it into full veneers and partial veneers,

handling them separately,

with the partial veneers done as no-prep

and the full veneers done with minimal reduction.

We proceeded with reducing the teeth.

Only the two front teeth were minimally reduced,

and it was practically the same as not reducing them at all.

We only reduced to the point where it would be fine even without anesthesia.

The veneers are fabricated extremely thin.

It's a thickness and natural design

that the one-day method — designed and fabricated by computer — simply cannot match.

There was minimal reduction on individual teeth,

but to a degree with absolutely no impact on tooth health,

and a degree of reduction that didn't even require anesthesia.
