Gangnam No-Prep Veneers: Beauty With Minimal Tooth Damage
Hello. This is Park Jonguk, director of Dream Dental Clinic.
Cosmetic procedures for the front teeth,
treatments aimed at making the teeth beautiful and attractive,
fall into two categories: all-ceramic crowns
and veneers.
All-ceramic crowns are used when there's a large fracture in the tooth,
when discoloration is too severe,
or when a tooth has become weakened after root canal treatment, among other situations.
Veneers
require far less tooth reduction than all-ceramic crowns,
and involve bonding a thin ceramic plate onto the front surface of the tooth.
The word "veneer" itself means a thin layer,
so it's a method that can minimize damage to the tooth.
Most veneer treatments
do require some reduction of the tooth.
The amount varies depending on the condition of the tooth.
Reducing the tooth as little as possible
is what extends the veneer's lifespan
and reduces side effects.
As a result,
Gangnam no-prep veneers, which involve no reduction at all,
become a treatment with a long lifespan and almost no side effects.
That said, not every case can become a Gangnam no-prep veneer —
certain conditions need to be met.
The teeth need to be small, the alignment even, and there must be no protrusion.
In this case, the teeth were quite small,
and the alignment was good.
To improve the tooth shape
and make it brighter, veneer treatment was performed.
Since the tooth isn't reduced at all,
we take the impression directly as-is and proceed to fabricate the veneers in ceramic.
Placing the veneers on one side at a time
makes the change from the original tooth clearly visible.
We proceed with bonding the veneers.
After treatment, you can see the teeth have become bright and beautiful.
You can confirm that the natural feel of the teeth is clearly preserved.
Gangnam no-prep veneer treatment like this
results in a tooth slightly larger than the current one.
As a result,
even in cases where there's space between the teeth,
no-prep veneers work very well.
Here, there's space between each of the teeth.
Since the four front teeth were quite small,
the treatment uses that space to bring the tooth size
up to a normal size.
The Gangnam no-prep veneer treatment has been completed.
The treatment was done while bringing out a natural coloring.
Putting a variety of natural tooth colors
into thin ceramic like this,
and creating a natural shape,
is quite a demanding task.
Even with Gangnam no-prep veneers,
making a veneer that's both natural
and beautiful
is what defines Dream Dental Clinic.
Natural beauty.
