Veneer treatment to make the front teeth beautiful

keeps tooth reduction to a minimum

while changing the shape and color of the tooth.

A similar treatment is the all-ceramic crown,

and together the two are called tooth reshaping.

In the case of an all-ceramic crown,

when the tooth is badly fractured or severely discolored,

or when it's already had root canal treatment,

the entire tooth is reduced

and capped like putting on a hat.

These are the two methods of front-tooth reshaping,

but you'll sometimes see one advertised under a different name as if it were some new treatment.

Giving it a fancier name

doesn't make it a better treatment or a new one.

Today's post will look at the before-and-after photos

of veneer treatment across a variety of cases.

Case 1

The alignment was good,

but this was a case of retruded teeth, with a strong feeling of the teeth tucked inward.

As a result, when smiling or talking,

the teeth were barely visible.

In addition, the tooth next to the front tooth was somewhat small,

a condition called a peg tooth.

The patient decided on veneer treatment to address both this issue of the teeth barely showing when talking or smiling

and the peg tooth.

Since this is a treatment that makes the teeth larger,

no-prep veneers were possible.

The treatment has been completed.

The tooth proportions improved,

and you can see that the color and shape of the teeth improved considerably as well.

Even from a variety of angles,

you can see the teeth have become natural and beautiful.

Case 2

The teeth were chipped here and there for a variety of reasons.

There are various reasons teeth chip like this.

Most of the time it's an occlusal problem.

If the direction and position where the tooth meets the lower tooth during chewing is off,

it ends up chipping like this,

and in this case it was caused by a problem with the back teeth,

so we finished treating the back teeth first

and then proceeded with front-tooth veneer treatment.

The veneer treatment was completed successfully.

You can see that both the shape and color of the teeth improved dramatically.

What's especially important to notice

is the natural expression of the teeth.

Rather than the whole tooth being a single, opaque, awkward color,

every kind of varied expression of a natural tooth has been fully incorporated.

In many veneers these days,

that naturalness is disappearing.

That's because achieving this kind of expression is a very demanding, difficult process.

Case 3

There were gaps between the teeth,

and a great deal of tartar buildup.

As a result, the gums had significant inflammation.

Starting with gum treatment

through to gum maintenance,

there was a long road ahead.

With a gap already having formed between the front teeth,

the patient had previously been treated with resin bonding.

We removed the resin

and decided to proceed with veneer treatment.

The treatment has been completed.

The teeth became really beautiful.

Rather than a single opaque, artificial-looking color,

you can see that the feel of a natural tooth is fully alive.

This kind of detail is what matters.

Teeth that look as awkward as a stick of xylitol gum are simple to fabricate,

so a lot of veneer treatment is being done that way these days,
