Front-Tooth Veneers at a Gangnam Veneer Clinic: Natural and Beautiful

Front-tooth veneers are an esthetic treatment.

Patients get this treatment because they want more attractive teeth.

What counts as attractive is fairly subjective,

but as with eye or nose surgery,

in the end, people always end up seeking a natural look.

For teeth, this treatment is done with ceramic.

A veneer means attaching a thin ceramic shell only to the front surface of the tooth

to improve the tooth's shape or color.

How that thin ceramic shell is made

makes a huge difference in the result.

There are currently two methods for making veneers:

a handmade method and a computer-made method.

With the computer-made method,

the shape is designed by computer and milled from a block of ceramic by machine,

and the result still falls considerably short

of what's achieved by hand.

This same-day method, or a method finished within two to three days,

makes it difficult to achieve detailed expression.

As a result, the treatment often ends up looking like a stick of xylitol gum stuck onto the teeth.

In many cases, clinics give it a different name and advertise it as if it were a completely different treatment from veneers.

Anyone can tell the result looks artificial and awkward.

With handcrafted work,

because a much wider range of expression is possible,

the result can look close to a natural tooth while still being quite beautiful and translucent.

The patient had finished orthodontic treatment,

but the shape and alignment of the teeth still weren't good, and black triangles had even developed,

so at our Gangnam veneer clinic,

we decided on veneer treatment.

What she especially emphasized

was that she wanted it to look natural.

The problem was that, looking at the whole face, the teeth were all tilted,

so this had to be corrected as well.

Through the veneers, not just the color and shape of the teeth but the tilt and symmetry

all had to be corrected at the same time.

To anticipate how much tooth structure to remove and what the result would look like,

we carried out a wax-up diagnostic process.

This is the single most important step in veneer treatment —

it shows in advance how much of the tooth will be reduced,

and lets us anticipate the result as well.

After this kind of thorough preparation, we begin reducing the teeth.

A microscope must be used when doing the reduction.

Telling 0.1-0.5mm apart by eye simply isn't possible.

The teeth have been precisely reduced according to the plan.

The right canine already had a crown from previous treatment,

so at our Gangnam veneer clinic,

we removed the crown and carried out a redo.

It was finished this naturally.

The characteristics of a natural tooth

are a natural sense of dimensionality, varied coloring, and translucency.

To make front-tooth veneers look this natural,

you need to achieve precise, varied expression

within ceramic just 0.1-0.5mm thick.

Even viewed from a variety of angles,

the beauty of a natural tooth comes through clearly.

Even the surface texture of the tooth was expressed,

and a touch of yellow staining was deliberately added near the gums,

so it looks even more like a natural tooth.

The smile came out looking far more natural.
