Natural, Beautiful Front Veneers
Hello, I'm Park Jonguk, director of Dream Dental Clinic.
It's been more than
17 years since I began treating veneers in Apgujeong.
Looking back at veneer trends over that time,
there were periods with real problems —
excessive reduction, treatment without proper explanation, and so on —
and there have also been periods, like now,
when front veneers made quickly and simply by computer became trendy.
There have been a lot of changes.
Veneers made simply by computer
started becoming popular about 10 years ago or so.
Not because they produce better results,
but mostly because they're quick and simple to make,
which naturally makes them quite tempting from a clinic's standpoint.
But with computer-made, one-day veneers,
the amount of tooth reduction inevitably ends up greater,
and the result inevitably differs from a natural tooth.
The front veneers I treat
are always treated to preserve as much of the natural tooth feel as possible.
That process is far more complex and time-consuming than the computer-made process,
but it reduces the amount of tooth structure removed,
and the result is far more beautiful as well.
The tips of the teeth were excessively worn,
and the color of the teeth was heavily stained.
Since the patient didn't want awkward, artificial-looking teeth,
they researched extensively before finding their way to our clinic.
They wanted a look that was as natural as possible, while still being bright, clear, and translucent.
Using wax,
the teeth are first designed to suit the shape of the face.
During this process, the entire amount of tooth reduction is determined,
and treatment proceeds with precise tooth reduction.
The chipped area at the tip of the tooth is smoothed,
and minimal reduction is carried out
for the front veneers.
The veneers then go into fabrication in ceramic.
This is a photo after veneer treatment.
If this photo had been shown first,
you probably would have thought these were natural teeth.
The result is undetectable, natural, bright, translucent, and beautiful.
With cosmetic procedures too, an obvious, artificial look was trendy about 10 years ago,
but these days, naturalness is what matters across the board.
The same goes for front veneers —
natural beauty is always the right answer.
