A Collection of Veneer and All-Ceramic Crown Redo Cases

What I'm showing you today

are cases where patients had already had veneer or all-ceramic crown treatment,

but needed retreatment due to shape issues, chipping, or detachment.

The reasons for retreatment are quite varied.

The most important thing in retreatment

is what to improve in the current state, and how.

The key process for checking the fine details

is a wax-up precision diagnosis.

It's a precise diagnostic process, using wax,

for how the tooth should be shaped.

Through this process,

let's look at before-and-after photos of veneer and all-ceramic crown retreatment.

Case 1

You can see old all-ceramic crowns on the two front teeth.

The tooth color doesn't match the other surrounding teeth and is quite opaque, giving a dull feel.

Because the two teeth were connected to each other,

it wasn't good for tooth health either.

We carried out retreatment with a natural shape,

adding natural translucency to match the surrounding teeth.

It's now finished so naturally and translucently

that it's hard to tell which tooth is the natural one and which is the all-ceramic crown.

Case 2

An old veneer had fractured.

The shape was also poor,

giving quite an unnatural appearance.

Four teeth had been treated,

and they didn't match the natural teeth at all.

Retreatment was completed with veneers on 6 teeth.

The result is far more natural and beautiful.

Removing the veneer is also an important step.

We use laser removal, which minimizes damage to the tooth.

Case 3

The two front teeth had a veneer and a crown.

The two teeth weren't symmetrical,

and the tooth next to the front tooth was a peg-shaped tooth, quite small in size.

We carried out retreatment of the 2 teeth along with veneers at the same time.

The result was finished

both natural-looking and evenly aligned.

Case 4

These are four old all-ceramic crowns.

A dark line was beginning to show near the gum,

gaps had opened up between the teeth,

and the shape, color, and translucency of the teeth were all far from ideal.

When there are gaps between the teeth,

the tooth size can easily end up too large,

so retreatment has to be done with careful attention to tooth proportion.

The shape, color, and translucency of the teeth

were all improved significantly.
