Reversing Tooth Aging in Your 40s with No-Prep Veneers | Dream Dental Clinic, Dr. Park Jonguk
Tooth aging often begins before facial aging.
Drawing on Dr. Park Jonguk's 27 years of laminate veneer experience in Apgujeong since 2006,
we introduce a case where occlusal stabilization and no-prep veneers restored a youthful smile.
What people who look youthful despite their age have in common is 'balance.'
Harmony among skin, expression, and teeth is what determines a youthful look.
This patient was in her early 40s. Her face was youthful and beautiful,
but teeth grinding and a misaligned bite had worn down and shortened her teeth,
giving only her teeth an aged appearance.
Dream Dental Clinic has performed veneer treatments continuously in Apgujeong since 2006,
and Dr. Park Jonguk has focused on veneer clinical practice for about 27 years since 1998.
Changes in appearance caused by tooth wear and aging, as in this patient's case,
can be substantially improved with veneers.
Teeth are not simply about making them whiter;
occlusion (bite), balance, and tooth proportion must all work in harmony to look natural.
In this case, we first stabilized the molar occlusion,
then restored the length and translucency of the front teeth with no-prep veneers.
Photo 1 — Before treatment
The front teeth were severely worn,
and the overall short tooth length gave an aged impression.
It was a tooth shape that didn't match her youthful face.
Photo 2 — Precision wax-up diagnosis
Through the wax-up, we precisely assessed tooth length, width, curvature,
and occlusal balance.
The two central incisors were slightly protruding,
so only that area required a minimal 0.3mm reduction.
Photo 3 — Condition after reduction
Only the central incisors were adjusted with a minimal, micro reduction,
and the rest were treated with no-prep veneers.
Since almost no tooth structure was removed, there was no root canal treatment or pain at all.
Photos 4-7 — 5 years after treatment
Five years after treatment, without any fracture or debonding,
the translucency and color of the teeth remain unchanged.
Because the occlusion is stable, the lifespan is long,
and the patient was pleased, saying she looked "even more youthful than before."
Conclusion
Veneers are not simply a 'whitening procedure.'
They improve tooth aging, wear, and occlusal problems all at once,
restoring a natural, healthy appearance.
No-prep veneers preserve as much natural tooth structure as possible
while bringing out translucent light and three-dimensional depth,
and Dream Dental Clinic has upheld this principle ever since it opened in 2006.
With 27 years of clinical experience and a precision diagnostic system,
we protect both the vitality of your teeth and the naturalness of your smile.
❓Q&A
Q1. Is veneer treatment possible even as you get older?
A. Yes. In fact, for middle-aged patients with wear or discoloration,
veneers are a good way to restore a more youthful appearance.
Q2. I heard no-prep veneers have weaker bonding — is that true?
A. No. With precise surface treatment and the correct cement,
no-prep veneers can bond just as securely.
Q3. How long can veneers last?
A. On average they can last 10 to 20 years or more,
and with stable occlusion and good care, they can last even longer.
