Before-and-After Photos From a Clinic Skilled in Front Teeth Veneers

Hello, I'm Park Jonguk, director of Dream Dental Clinic, a clinic skilled in veneer treatment.

Treatment that beautifully transforms the front teeth is called cosmetic tooth reshaping.

There are two methods of reshaping: veneers and all-ceramic crowns.

A veneer is a treatment method where a thin ceramic shell is bonded onto the front surface of the tooth,

while an all-ceramic crown involves reducing the entire tooth and capping it.

Each has its own indications,

and treatment should be chosen to fit the situation.

When teeth are badly chipped, have severe decay,

have had root canal treatment, or are severely discolored,

an all-ceramic crown is generally used.

But even if a tooth is chipped, as long as the amount of damage isn't too large,

veneer treatment is more favorable for the health of the tooth.

In today's post, I'll walk you through

before-and-after photos of cases where the front teeth were beautifully reshaped using these various methods.

Case 1

Two teeth had been treated with all-ceramic crowns,

and the two were splinted together.

Occasionally you'll see front teeth splinted together like this for no real reason

when getting crowns done,

but unless there's a specific reason for it,

splinting them together offers no advantage — esthetically, functionally, or in terms of tooth health,

there's no upside to it.

To address both the esthetic issue and this splinted condition, we

carried out the redo here at our veneer-focused clinic.

The color, shape, and translucency of the teeth

were matched exactly to the natural teeth next to them.

Treatment was completed with a result so similar that it's hard to tell whether the teeth are natural or ceramic.

Case 2

Four crowns had been placed,

and over a long period of time, the shape of the gums had changed

and gaps had also opened up between the teeth.

In cases like this, a redo makes the teeth look even more natural while also

closing the spaces between the teeth and improving the shape near the gums.

In this way, the all-ceramic crown redo was completed with a natural, beautiful result.

Right down to the natural shape and dimensionality,

the redo was carried out beautifully.

Case 3

This was a case of severely misaligned teeth.

It's a case that would normally call for orthodontic treatment.

Because of the patient's reluctance toward orthodontics given her older age, and

concern about the time it would take, we decided to treat this case with a combination of all-ceramic crowns and veneers here at our veneer-focused clinic.

In cases like this, where a large amount of tooth reduction may be needed,

we thoroughly explain the potential issues with tooth reduction and any possible side effects down the road,

and only proceed in limited cases after obtaining informed consent.

If treated with orthodontics, it would have required extraction-based orthodontic treatment,

and would have taken about a year and a half to two years,

but here at our veneer-focused clinic, treatment was completed in under 2 weeks.

Case 4

This was a case where the two front teeth were excessively large

while the other teeth were relatively too small.

It's a case that's difficult to resolve with orthodontics alone.

Even with orthodontics, a small tooth won't grow larger, nor will a large tooth shrink.

That said, doing orthodontics first and then veneers afterward

does have the advantage of reducing the amount of tooth reduction needed, though it takes more than a year,

and has the downside of doubling the cost.

By adjusting the tooth proportions this way,

the front teeth veneer treatment was completed.
