Finding a Good Veneer Clinic: Beauty and a Natural Look Are the Point
Hello, I'm Park Jonguk, director of Dream Dental Clinic, a clinic known for doing veneers well.
Veneer treatment is a treatment for esthetics.
The result has to look beautiful.
What's sacrificed from the tooth and the esthetic outcome
need to be kept in balance.
If you insist on removing very little tooth structure, or none at all,
the result won't look beautiful,
and if you remove a lot of tooth structure purely for the sake of the result,
it will cause problems for the health of the tooth.
Tooth health and the esthetic outcome —
to find the point
where these two can be brought into balance
requires precise diagnosis, without question.
To keep tooth reduction to a minimum,
I've spent a very long time studying and working at this,
and through exposure to a wide range of cases,
I believe I've built up more experience than most.
Since 2006, working in Apgujeong-dong,
running this practice,
I've handled a truly wide variety of veneer cases,
thinking through and researching each and every one,
case by case.
These days, related to this,
I also give lectures to dentists
at a variety of venues.
This is a case with a range of esthetic problems.
First, the front teeth were badly twisted.
The central incisors were excessively large,
while the lateral incisors next to them
were quite small.
Because of this large size difference between the central and lateral incisors,
the central incisors stood out far too much.
The teeth were also quite yellow in color,
and the canines were excessively pointed.
On top of that, brushing wasn't very effective,
so a lot of plaque had built up,
and you can see some inflammation as a result.
In a situation like this,
the treatment that transforms the teeth
into the most natural-looking and most beautiful state
is veneers.
Dream Dental Clinic's goal
is never artificial-looking teeth,
but veneers that look like beautiful natural teeth.
This is the outcome created here at our clinic, known for doing veneers well,
the result we achieved.
To help reduce gum inflammation as well,
the veneers were made extremely thin.
We gave the tooth tips natural translucency
and complex, richly three-dimensional
form.
The surface texture, too,
was finished to closely resemble a natural tooth,
while still looking beautiful.
So there's no problem with gum health,
we also give detailed guidance on proper brushing technique,
and through regular checkups,
we make sure everything stays well maintained.
To go well with the patient's smile,
the smile arc has to be adjusted properly.
When dentists focus only on the teeth themselves,
fabricating without looking at the face,
the result can end up not matching the face at all.
This is especially true of the same-day (CAD/CAM) method,
where a person isn't doing the designing —
shapes are simply picked from a library built into the computer,
so a wide range of expression just isn't possible.
With the treatment now complete,
here's how it looks three years later.
The plaque and gum inflammation
seen in the very first photo
have not come back.
With some patients, veneers
can actually cause more inflammation than before,
but here at our clinic, known for doing veneers well,
a well-designed veneer ceramic,
along with ongoing recall checkups
and brushing education,
prevent that kind of problem.
We've been treating patients with veneers for a long time,
so this kind of system is well established here.
Not the artificial, unnatural-looking teeth
that anyone can produce,
but teeth with the feel of beautiful natural teeth —
you can see that's what holds up over the long term at a clinic that does veneers well.
